Now that spring is finally here, it’s the best time to explore all that Caledon has to offer. Spread out over 700 square kilometers, Caledon is home to many quaint communities and a scenic countryside. There’s certainly something for everyone.
Enjoy the Outdoors
Whether you are walking, running or biking, Caledon has hundreds of kilometers of trails for you to enjoy. Looking for a camping experience? Visit one of the many conservation areas run by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority or Credit Valley Conservation.
Bill’s Suggestion: The Palgrave Forest and Wildlife Area is a popular spot for locals! With a variety of terrains and trails, you’ll often see people running, walking, biking or even on horseback. Be sure to travel with a friend who knows the area, as the trails can be challenging but fun to navigate.
Shop at a Farmers’ Market
Farmers’ markets provide a wide selection of local fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and more. Stop by the artisan booths and chat with local farmers about their products. Caledon currently offers two local markets. Bolton runs on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm while Inglewood runs on Wednesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Bill’s Suggestion: Get to the market as early as possible as you don’t want to miss out on any of the booths or products available. After you’ve shopped at the market, don’t forget to shop local and visit some of the other nearby stores.
Visit a Local Library
Did a rainy spring day ruin your plans? Not to worry because in Caledon, you are never more than 15 minutes away from a Caledon Public Library (CPL) branch. Our local library offers programs for all ages. Attend a Storytime, use a computer or simply grab a good book to read and enjoy.
Bill’s Suggestion: Check out the new Caledon Seed Library, a free community-led seed saving initiative. Checkout seeds just like a book, plant them in your garden and help build the collection by returning new seeds.
